THE SKY MAY BE CLEAR
BUT IT'S RAINING KITTENS (AND CATS) AT HEART
In the spring a young cat's fancy turns to thoughts of love, and unless that cat's been spayed or neutered the result is kittens –
lots and lots of homeless kittens!
If you're in the mood for love we have kittens and cats in every conceivable color and design and they are incredibly cute.
We started our organization 25 years ago out of a profound desire to alleviate the suffering of neglected, injured, orphaned, sick or abused animals in Western New York. Since then we have saved the lives of thousands of animals.
HEART has always managed to stay true to our “no-kill” philosophy. Our mission remains to respect all animals and to help each animal gain its rightful place in the world, regardless of handicap or personality. Working collaboratively with local shelters and other rescue organizations we’ve made considerable progress towards a shared vision to end euthanasia of healthy and adoptable companion animals.
If you give of your life to help animals you know the pain of seeing how many more there are, and the pain of realizing you can't save them all. And you know the joy that comes from helping and saving the ones you can. We've come a long way but there are still so many little faces looking for help and safety to not keep going.
If you adopted a pet from us, you helped us help another homeless animal. If you referred someone to HEART, you helped. If you made a monetary donation or if you fostered a homeless animal, you helped. There is a special place in our hearts for all of you that have enabled HEART to continue our mission for 25 years.
