You'll know right away when you meet this beautiful big boy that he was made to be hugged!! Tom Cat was abandoned in a wooded area in Gowanda near a home for teenagers. One of the residents would sneak Tom Cat into her room at night where he would curl up and sleep with her. But alas, the other residents noticed meowing and Tom Cat was about to be banished back outside to sleep in the cold. Fortunately, someone noticed an injury to his front paw that needed repair and called HEART. Tom Cat was placed in a HEART foster home where he is doing great!! His idea of a great day is waking up, falling asleep in the sun, waking up and watching all the action around him --- or not. Then he might enjoy a treat. He really likes his naps on the couch, loves to eat, and loves being petted. "Oooh, that's the spot. Now don't stop until the grass grows another two inches...". He is good with other cats and people but he tolerates dogs by avoidance so a dog-free home would be best. Tom Cat is FIV positive. Please don't let the word FIV scare you. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives. It's very hard for a neutered boy to give it to other cats unless there's a serious, bloody cat fight. So unless your cats at home routinely tear each other to pieces, it's not a problem. (And if your cats are tearing each other up, that's probably a bigger problem!). And of course, there's no way to give FIV to humans or dogs! Tom Cat is in good health and as far as he's concerned, "FIV" is just some letters on a piece of paper! And he sure hopes those three letters won't keep him from finding a home. Cats with FIV are all hoping for a hero - someone to love them. And every day, there are people out there who heed the call. Won't you consider making Tom Cat the happiest cat alive by offering him a home?
