THIS SPECIAL PAGE HIGHLIGHTS KIDS THAT HAVE GONE OUT OF THEIR WAY TO DO SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR HEART

HEART is extremely grateful for kids that support HEART through fundraising and donations. Their support means a great deal to the animals that depend on HEART for survival.
A "Golden Paw" is awarded here to kids that have worked or raised money to help HEART's animals.
If you would like to arrange to have a photo of your HEART fundraiser or donation posted on our website, please let us know.

PENNY GOES TO HER PURR-FECT NEW HOME

Samantha, Haley and Alyssa picked "Penny" (an adorable fluffy kitten) to be their new furry family member.

This is Penny with her new best friends on her adoption day at the HEART Pet Adoption Center.

Thank you girls, for giving a loving new home to a kitten in need. We're sure you'll love Penny as much as we do.

PENNIES FOR PETS
(YOU'RE NEVER TOO YOUNG TO HELP)

The monthly curriculum of the Care-A-Lot Child Care Center in Derby was pets. The kids learned how to care for pets and that pets need love, shelter, food and water. They discussed their own pets and how they help take care of them.
The Care-A-Lot Child Care Center loves to help their community so they decided to help HEART. The children collected “Pennies for Pets”, learning a lot about money while counting pennies and discussing their worth.
Their donation is being used to help pay for medical care for
"Colon Powell", a kitten that was very sick when he came to HEART. Colon had expensive surgery to have part of his colon removed and is recovering in his HEART foster home. The children and their teachers visited the HEART Pet Adoption Center to bring their donation for Colon.
Louise Renkas, HEART Humane Education Coordinator, reads a story to the kids during their visit to the Pet Adoption Center.
Colon’s foster mom brought him to the Pet Adoption Center to meet the kids. (he's in the lower right corner)

Kate is 12 years old loves animals!! She thought giving to animals that are not fortunate enough to have homes was a purrfect idea. Kate saved her coins for two years and then rolled all the coins. Then she went onto the HEART website to look at our Wish List - and then Kate went shopping!! Kate presented her donations at the HEART Pet Adoption Center. Her donations included pet food, a pet carrier, bleach, paper towels, cat beds, hand sanitizer, and more.
